Fitler Square
Location
Fitler Square is tucked away along the Schuylkill River in the Southwest Corner of the city. It’s just west of Rittenhouse Square and just south of Logan Square and University City is just across the river. It’s a small neighborhood so it’s very walkable and it’s walking distance to Center City. It’s also accessible by bus routes or you can drive since there’s a lot of street parking.
The Vibe
Named after a former Philadelphia mayor, Fitler Square is now a community-oriented neighborhood of well-maintained historical homes with a quaint park at its center. It’s a quiet, mostly residential neighborhood and is one of Philadelphia's most expensive neighborhoods. It’s very family friendly and is home to some of Philadelphia's most prestigious private schools.
There’s old world charm with streetscapes consisting of brownstones and classic Philadelphia row homes along tree-lined streets. This prestigious neighborhood may not have the hustle and bustle that most other Philly neighborhoods have but the residents wouldn't have it any other way.
Although located just west of Center City, this pocket of Philly doesn't receive the heavy traffic that other sections of downtown receive. That’s likely because there’s only a few restaurants and bars in the area and they’re smaller cafes and bistros.
One of the best parts of this neighborhood are the green spaces. It’s is the perfect place to take a stroll, walk your dog or just kind of get away from it all without really having to go far. I personally love to take walks here and wander through the beautiful streets. It's so peaceful. Tranquil, serene and stately are the best words to describe the vibes here.
