Passyunk Square

Location

Passyunk Square is a South Philly neighborhood East of Broad Street and South of Washington Avenue. It’s just south of Bella Vista and just north of Lower Moyamensing. It’s a very walkable neighborhood and it’s also very close to Septa’s Broad Street Line that can take you to Center City or to the stadiums in just minutes.

The Vibe

Passyunk Square is a foodies paradise. It’s filled with neighborhood bars, stylish boutiques and more incredible restaurants than we can even count. At the heart of the neighborhood is East Passyunk Avenue that runs diagonally through the neighborhood. This energetic centerpiece is a street lined with high end eateries, local dive bar favorites, sushi bars, mexican cantinas, vintage stores, shops and cafes and iconic Italian restaurants that first made this area famous. It’s a great mix of old and new.

This South Philly neighborhood is very family friendly and has proud residents that form its long standing community that is continuously growing and welcoming a new generation of people who call this neighborhood home. It has a small town feel with deep roots that goes back generations.

Things to Do

  • Check out the Singing Fountain in the heart of East Passyunk Avenue. It’s a neighborhood gathering spot with benches, music often playing and you can play a game of chess.

  • There's a Farmers market every Wednesday from 3-7pm at the corner of East Passyunk Avenue and Dickinson Street.

  • A springtime favorite event is Flavors on the Avenue when restaurants get together to put on an outdoor celebration along the avenue. You can sample food and drinks, there’s live music, lots of vendors, and a craft market.

  • The annual car show and street festival every summer features more than 200 antique and classic cars, trucks and motorcycles.

  • At Christmas time, Miracle on South 13th Street - this street has the best Christmas light displays and decorations.

  • Go to parks like Columbus park and Capitolo Playground where you might even find Joel Embiid playing basketball every once in a while if you’re lucky!

  • The top of the neighborhood connects you to the Italian Market, which is a great place to get produce and fresh meats and cheeses.

  • Shopping and eating of course!

Real Estate

The way we’d describe real estate in Passyunk Square is classic old Philly charm. Street by street you’ll see traditional brick rowhomes, brownstones and trinities with friendly neighbors. You’ll see some new construction, but not nearly as much as other areas of the city. You’ll see homes built in the early 1900s that have kept that charming exterior and completely renovated the interior.

As of May 2024, the average sales price in Passyunk Square is $500,286 with 27 days on the market.
